Congrats Baltimore's own MO'NIQUE

I am Super Proud of fellow Baltimorean MO'nique for her big win at the 2010 Oscars for supporting Actress in Precious! I remember when I was younger my mom and her friends would go down to Mo'nique comedy club, I was huge fan of THE PARKERS and she is definitely our Queen of Comedy! So often being from Baltimore there aren't to many people that we can say "they made it" (although there are some Melo, Jada, etc)! But right now is all about MO! Congrats and keep making the 410 proud!!!

And The SUPER GOURGE WINNERS OF THE OSCARS 2010 ARE...

Thank the Fashion Gods for the Oscars! I love the glitz and glamour of the Academy Awards, everyone brings their A game!Designer couture gowns, major bling and hopefully walking away with a gold man, that is what being a movie star is all about! As I watched the Red Carpet on E! I instantly knew who my top 5 Best dressed of the night were!

MY SUPER GOURGE TOP 5
5. Nicole Richie wore a long sleeve backless Reem Acra gown! Absolutely loved it, Nicole is always very 70's, boho chic and it absolutely works for her!
4.Demi Moore,
is so Super Gourge it's disgusting! She is an ageless beauty who only gets better with age! I loved the nude tone of her Atelier Versace gown,it shaped her body perfectly and the tiered bottom was absolutely gorgeous!
3.Miley Cyrus, I am not usually a fan on Hanna Montanas alter ego, but lately Miley has shown she is growning into a stunning young woman! I loved bustier and the champagne/gold beading on the bottom of her Jenny Packham gown!It gave the statement "I'm turning into a woman"!
2.Sandra Bullock who won for BEST ACTRESS in THE BLIND SIDE looked like an Oscar winner in her Gold vintage gown! She commanded the Red Carpet like a winner!!
1. Jennifer Lopez,
I absolutely adore Ms.Lopez, at age 42 and the mother of 2 year old twins she is even more stunning then before and makes me want to hit the gym a little harder! Dressed in Armani Prive, donned in Cartier diamonds,Jenny from the block again proves she cleans up absolutely SUPER GOURGE!!

Who were you favorites??

MY BARBIE

I really hate to keep beating a dead horse, but this "BARBIE" thing is getting out of control and I feel with the weather warming up it is only going to get worse. You may ask where is this coming from, well I had a series of events this week that made me say hmmmm. 1st, at the Jay Z concert this past week, I saw more then a handful of Nicki Minaj/Barbie inspired outfits, if I've said it once, I'll say it again! NICKI MINAJ is a performer, and wears costumes, she can pull of the "Barbie gimmick" because she is entertaining! But, when a 20plus women attempts to recreate Nicki Minaj's look, it just looks foolish. Also at the show as Jay Z was doing his normal looking out to the audience and doing acknowledgements he shouted out a female with "pink hair , pink shirt, all pink everything" I felt completely embrassed for this women, she looked foolish and probably thought he was paying her a compliment, he was not! On Thursday night I ran into a high school friend whose actually birth name is BARBIE ,I asked her how she felt about this whole "Barbie Movement" and like me she thought it was foolish and she gets a little offended with it. She also let me know that her real name has gotten her many opportunities but it has also caused people not to take her seriously. Lastly, last night a friend of mine said she was out at a club and saw a women with BARBIE tattooed in the middle of her chest!! This has gone too far! In my previous blog I stated what BARBIE DOLL means to me, she is beautiful, confident, fashionable, successful, great life, love and friends, not a bra ,leggings, and pink tracks! When I came across the picture above, I thought this is the epitome of the kind of "BARBIE" I wanted to grow up in be when I was a child, she looks refined, established and ready to conquer anything! Ladies I am in know way bashing you , nor am I bashing Nicki Minaj, I really like her music, personality and her style for her! But as a grow women you have to know the difference between reality and entertainment purposes!

*****Again I restate, many little girl myself included want to grow up to be like BARBIE DOLL when they are a young child! Barbie has it all , who doesn't want that! She is a great aspiration for young girls to know that they can be beautiful, intelligent , successful and have love all in one!! Barbie is not Pink Tracks and leggings!!********

Valentine's Day is Tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow is Valentines Day!!!I LOVE all holidays!! So Valentine's Day is NO different! I often her people, well mainly guys say "Oh Valentine's Day is just a man made holiday to get you to spend a lot money", I say, every holiday "man" is getting you to spend money so don't treat Valentine's day with any less significance then we do ,uum let's say EASTER!! When did Easter become about buying an "Easter Outfit" and an " EASTER MONDAY" outfit, lol! But we do it so give Valentine's Day respect too!
Now I am a firm believer that you should just show your partner LOVE on everyday , not just a day marked off on the calender, but on Valentine's Day make it a little special for EVERYONE you love! Not just your Lover! My grandmother used to always buy my sister and I Valentine's mugs with chocolates inside! She got me one, one year that especially stood out! It was a mug that was made to appear cracked and dented and it read "I LOVE YOU AND ALL YOUR IMPERFECTIONS", I think that was one of the best gifts that, I have ever received and I'm sure it only cost about 5 BUCKS!
LADIES
Often Men feel left out on Valentine's Day and we women tend to believe the day is all about us! Well it's not! Make your man feel special too. Of course you can always go with the 'ole faithfuls of playing dress up in a sexy costume, but get a little creative!1 year I took my husband to a brand new ICE SKATING RINK that wasn't even open for business yet (my husband loves skating)and we had the entire rink to ourselves! That night I had CHEFS come to our home to prepare and serve dinner, we ended the night with his favorite wine and oil's that I had went and handmade!I think people need to put more thought behind giving gifts instead of just a worrying about the price tag! Too often it is thought that if you spend a bunch of money , it's a good gift, WRONG (UNLESS IT'S THAT BAG OR SHOES SHE'S BEEN EYEING FOR MONTHS,LOL)!! MEN please take thought out to when buying for your lady! On Valentine's day of course Roses, Chocolates and Dinner is great but it becomes expected and loses its luster.Think of something that she has never done before, make her feel special! One year around Valentine's day I was in a very sad mood, my husband brought me home Trolli Gummi Worms (my fav candy EVER!!!) and a "My Little Devil" bear, that meant more to me then my much more expensive gift that I later received, because it was ME, it's what I truly enjoyed and I knew it was heartfelt!
With all that said, for Valentine's Day let your Lover, Parents, Children and Friends no how especially happy you are to have them in your life, LOVE is shown by Quality NOT by Quantity!

Alexander McQueen 1969-2010

Today the fashion world has been shocked in to learning about what seems to be the suicides of the innovative designer Alexander McQueen! He was only 40 years old! Such talent gone at such a young age! I tell people all the time to not assume that someone is happy just because they have fame or fortune, you never know what demons they are dealing with internally. Lately many of McQueen's designs have been saw on edge singer Lady GAGA, her outrageous personality and his genius creations have mad her the fashion symbol she is now! Alexander McQueen leaves us right at the beginning of New York Fashion week, but his clothing and and remarkable designs and name will live on forever. Last spring Alexander McQueen did a buyer friendly line for TARGET , with dresses ranging from $50 to $100, I have one and now I guess I'll put it somewhere as a keep sake, my little piece of fashion history from an impeccable designer gone too soon!

Who Wore it Best: Me vs Paris

I love when I look in magazines and see celebs who wore they same dress in the WHO WORE IT BEST section! I often disagree with who the magazine picks as the winner! A lot of time I will see celebs in something that I have worn before or have in my closet so from now on I will post those on here too and if I see anyone of you and a celeb that has on the same outfit, I will post those too. My first who wore it best is ME VS. PARIS HILTON. I wore this one arm embellished shoulder dress with sequin to bring in 2010! I absolutely loved this dress! Paris wore it last week on Letterman! I think I wore best, but that's just my opinion! What do you guys think?
