Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday! If you are reading this then you have something to be thankful for. I am truly thankful for my husband, he is the hardest working person that I know, and he does it all so that his family never wants for anything. I am thankful for my son, he is the light of my life and makes the most terrible days great. On Thanksgiving we spent it over my husbands family's house, I had a Macaroni and Cheese bake off with my husband's cousin Aleesha and needless to say i kicked her butt, lol. After dinner I participated in my first Black Friday shopping journey. What an experience! My neices and friend Kendria came along with me, and they thought tackling Walmart at 12am was hilarious! We shopped from 12 am until 8am hitting Walmart, Outlets and Toys R Us.I got about 90% of Smoo's Christmas shopping done in 1 night. I may do it again next year, just for the fun of it, because the sales weren't that great!! On Sunday we had another dinner with my family. While at dinner I played my niece's Wii Just Dance II game, it is so fun and definitely works up a sweat, I'm sure I worked off all that Thanksgiving food. Over all, I had an amazing Thanksgiving Day weekend, I hope you all did too!!

MY TOP 10 SUPERGORGE LIST

I decided to compile a top 10 List of my picks for Super Gorge women in entertainment of all time! All of these women are beautiful , and not ranked by looks, but by the impact that they have had in my life!! Enjoy

10.Marilyn Monroe is the ultimate ICON! Beautiful, sexy and yet misunderstood and lonely. Marilyn Monroe's death has left us with so many unanswered questions, this has lead us to have a never ending intrigue of the Blonde Bombshell.

9.Tina Turner I love, love, love, me some Tina Turner, I have even dressed up as her twice for Halloween (ages 10 and 24). She is our queen of rock, who embodies talent, strength and sex appeal. Ms. Turner ,turns 72 in 2 weeks, and is badder then ever!

8. Kim Kardashian Everyone knows how much I adore Kim Kardashian. This woman is drop dead SUPER GORGE! Kim, along with her family, she has taken a negative thing (sex tape) and flipped that into becoming America's family and building a multi tier, multi million dollar franchise. Between Reality Shows, clothing lines, books, perfumes, stores and the list goes on, I don't think Kim Kardashian and her family will be fading away anytime soon.

7.TLC Growing up I was a Huge fan of TLC. I love that they stood for female empowerment and safe sex. TLC, at their career peak , was the largest selling girl group ever. I own ever album, and I am always reminded that we all have a little CRAZY SEXY COOL in us! R.I.P.Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez

6.Janet Jackson There is a long running joke in my family that I am Janet Jackson's secret love child. Every since I can remember I have been a fan of the Jackson Family, but of course Michael and Janet stood out. I remember one summer have long big braids like Janet did in POETIC JUSTICE, glad that went out of style, lol. Janet is truly an Icon with a great career behind her, I am looking forward to what the future hold for Janet, Ms.Jackson if you're nasty!

5.Jennifer Lopez What can I say about J.LO, she does it all, sings, acts, dances, designer, mother, wife and home girl. I remember 1st seeing Jennifer Lopez in SELENA , it is 1 of my favorite movies. Jennifer Lopez is one of the few people who hav that IT factor about herself and has great personal style that is very glamorous.Kudos to you Jennifer for merging Fabulous with street chic, and remaining true to who you are.

4.Halle Berry Halle Berry, Halle Berry (In my Hurricane Chris Voice)! Halle Berry has been called the most beautiful woman in the world, and it is kind of hard to argue with that, she is seemingly perfect. I became a fan of Ms.Berry's in LOSING ISIAH, she gave a stellar performance. In 2002, when she became the 1st African American woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress,I cried right along with her, she deserved that award and it was way past due for African American women. Halle Berry is now a mom, thee ultimate M.I.L.F. and with age she seems to get better and better.

3.Beyonce' The one and only BEYONCE'.Some days I can just listen to Beyonce's music all day. Her voice is so powerful and let's not forget how beautiful she is.Beyonce' always gives great performance, I never miss her when she is in the area. I remember 1st coming across Destiny's Child in a Teen People magazine a few months before No,No,No hit the radio and I was instantly a fan.I have followed Beyonce' throughout her career and I can not wait to see what she does next. Beyonce is truly a legend already and has so much more that I am sure will accomplish.

2.Dorothy Dandridge
Years before Halle Berry played the Late Dorothy Dandrige in , INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE, I became mesmerized by the beauty that is Dorothy Dandridhe. While researching for a Black History report I came across and article on Ms. Dandridge and instantly loved her and also sympathized with her. Her life was full of ups and many downs. After reading reading the article on her,I learned that life isn;t better just because you are beautifful, sometimes it is actually harder, you have to constantly prove yourself.Thank you Ms. Dandrige for paving the way for so many African American women to be able to even walk through the front door of a night club!I have a picture of Dorothy Dandridge hanging in my closet, the picture reminds me to strive to be better.

1.Aaliyah
No entertainer has made an impact on my life as Aaliyah, has done!I was 1st introduced to Aaliyah's music around the age of 8 when her 1st album "Age Ain't Nothing But a Number" dropped. I was immeadiately drawn to her and felt connected because I had someone who I felt looked like me!For years I would immulate Aaliyah's style, the swoop and baggy jeans.I truly miss her as an entertainer, she appeared so humble and passionate about her work. Aaliyah's star was just begginning to shine so bright when she departed this world at the young age of 22!Aaliyah was truly ONE IN A MILLLION! R.I.P. Baby Girl

HONORABLE MENTION:: Jada Pinkett Smith, Heidi Klum, CHER, Elizabeth Taylor

ASK ASH: WHO DOES YOUR HAIR

I think the question that I get asked the most is "Who does your hair?". I am fortunate enough to have a great stylist and great friend in Erin Savage. Erin and I became friends at the end of our 11h grade year in high school. In 12th grade she would sometimes style my hair when I was to lazy to. Erin has had every hair style, cut and color that you can imagine.
In 12th grade, back in 2003 she dyed her hair blond and shaved it all off, before we knew who an Amber Rose, talk about trendsetting.I love having Erin as my hairstylist, because I am comfortable with telling her when I don't particularly care for a style or what I think works for me. Every week like clockwork, I take a 45 minute drive to the salon that she currently works at in Jessup called HEADLINE HAIR SALON (410-799-4415), to make sure my hair is right! I'm currently on my way there now, lol!! I have very weird hair, so between me not getting relaxers, getting weaves , exercising and other aspects of life, I put a lot of wear on my hair, so keeping up the maintenance on it is essential.
Erin takes very good care of my natural hair, right now I am trying to restore my hair, to how it was before I started chemically abusing it with color. From about 15 to 20 I was blond, bleaching every few months. This lead to my hair breaking off. Now my hair is almost back to where I want it to be. My goal is for my natural hair to be at 18 inches next summer, right now I am at about 12, so 6 more inches to go!Every women should have that stylist who knows your hair and knows what does and does not work for your hair. Recently I have wanted to re dye my hair blond and Erin has said no! I will take her word for it!Love you much E!!

A more personal SUPERGORGE

I want to start getting a little more personal with my blog. Of course I will still discuss fashion, parties and entertainment, but I also want to start touching on real life issues like marriage, family, parenting, relationships, friendship, frienememies, social networks and etc.! Also, often I get FaceBook and twitter messages from people that I don't personally know, but they want my help with a certain topic, from what shoes to wear with what,to where I get my hair done or what they should do about a boyfriend. This has lead me to start an "ASK ASH" segment to my blog. I will also begin to upload some video's of myself and friends. Feel free to send all your questions and comments to ashleysilvathoughts@gmail.com, I will keep you anonymous if you would like, but I would love to hear from you !!

Silva Scorpio Season

I am sooooo sorry it has taken me so long to get this blog up, but between my birthday, my husband's birthday, my sister's birthday, one of my girlfriends birthday and my son's birthday, I have been EXTREMELY busy ,on top of having a cold that just won't go away. I want to thank everyone who either came to my birthday dinner, Mr & Mrs Silva Birthday party, Quick and Pooh's surprise dinner or Smoo's 3rd birthday party, you all are greatly appreciated. Birthday's are a big deal to me and I try to make mine and everyone who I love have extra special birthdays!
"Mr&Mrs Silva" at Teatro was insane, we all had a ball!! The night started with makeup artist Marcus Miller coming over to do my makeup. I told him do whatever, I wasn't being picky, but after he was done, my lips were a bright pink and I felt a little "nicki-sh" . I'm not really big on lip color, but after awhile, I warmed up to them and loved my entire make up look! Thanks a billion Marcus for coming all the way to west bum!
The night of the party we had everyone meet at our house for food and drinks and the BELVEDERE INTENSE Party Bus picked us up and took us to the club. Here is a pic of my ladies and I before leaving the house!

The bus was insane and we had a ball!!

When we got to Teatro , the party was already insane, but NO one parties like my friends!! We had such a great night, and everyone looked SUPERGORGE!!
A huge thank you to my girls Keisha,Erin,Kendria,Christina and Shantel for our fabulous cake, we loved it!
A huge shout out to (Eric) Tyler Wells for making my fabulous dress in less then 24hrs, you are truly a life saver, I loved the dress and so did everyone else!
