Winter Trend: Turtle neck dresses

I am a dress lover, I wear them all year, no matter the weathr. Even when it's freezing cold out I prefer a dress over pants. A SuperGorge way to stay sexy and warm during the winter months is the turtle neck dress. It's classic and chic all in one and can be worn in a plain color or a print.Over the holiday I wore this trend twice. Once while going to dinner with my husband, I wore this brown turtle neck dress from American Apparel.
These dresses from American Apparel ($39) come in handy and are more than affordable, I have them in a variety of colors. On Christmas Eve's Eve (yes I have made a new holiday) my friends and I went to PARK AT FOURTEENTH and I wore the turtle neck trend again. This time I donned a leopard print turtleneck dress from BEBE ($59) ( you all know I love my LEOPARD) and paired it with brown thigh boots and my new faux fur, I combined 4 of the trends that I have done previous blogs on, into one outfit (turtle neck dress, leopard print, thigh boots and faux fur).
Winter is all about layering and mixing and matching trends, having fun with fashion.

12 Days 'Til Christmas: I FAUX With You

One of the biggest trends this winter is FAUX FUR. Maybe it is because of people's new found "awareness" on animal cruelty, although I'm still not sure what the difference is in skinning a Mink for a coat or cutting up a animal for a pair of shoes, but hey, this is not a PETA ad! I personally, am completely obsessed with my faux fur ear warmers, muffs and snood (scarf/hood mix). I also just ordered me a faux fur coat,as a Christmas gift to myself, I can't wait until it arrives. This winter if you want to save an animals life, or save a few bucks and remain fuzzy ,warm, and SUPERGORGE, give or get some faux fur!

WTF? FASHION DON'T

I have said before that I do not want my blog to be negative, gossip or downgrading to anyone, and this entry is not intended to make fun of or belittle anyone, BUT, I feel that I need to speak on a "fashion trend" which is a "fashion don't" when it comes to going out in public! This whole wearing leotards to the club as your complete outfit, is plain tick tack.

What makes people think it is ok to walk outside of your home looking like a "Single Ladies' reject backup dancer! Are you are on your way to dance rehearsal?
Unless you are performing, rehearsing or doing a photoshoot, then wearing just a leotard is NOT COOL,NOT CLASSY, NOT SEXY, JUST A FLAT OUT A MESS! Have some self respect!
Wearing a leotard can be done in a fashionable way. Pair your leotard with fitted pants or a mini skirt, this allows you to be on trend and sexy without being skany.
A word of advice, men do NOT think you look sexy, they think you look like a piece off easy a**,with entirely no ounce of self respect.Honestly I am trying to help you. There are many ways to dress sexy with out giving it all up and looking like a slut back whore, sluzzy, slut, yamp and so on.My plea is for party promoters to stop letting these attention thristy chicks in the club wearing just an undergarment, and friends shouldn't let friends look a mess, there should be some type of law against this nonsense. Ladies, you are all beautiful in some type of way. Let your true beauty shine thru and not let it be over shadowed by this tackiness!

Leather,Lace,Spikes Everything Nice :Trend

A not so new trend to expand upon for Fall and Winter is Leather,Lace and Spikes!! This trend gives it all,it is Glamour,it is timeless, and give fun edgy-ness...is that a word? As with any trend ,these style should be worn in moderation and mixed and matched with others, making it your very own. Leather jackets now should have more of a tailor fit, long gone are the days of over sized biker chick leather jackets. The look is now more feminine and sexy. But, over sized Lace is sexy as well, if paired with something a little more form fitting.. With this look of leather and lace you have to extremes, you can wear short mini lace with a leather blazer over the the top and be punk chic or you could pair that same lace mini with pearls and pumps and be sweet as pie.Add a little spike into you ensemble with a spike purse, belt or shoe. Don't be afraid to let out you inner dominate side and get frisky or play up that good girl image. Either way, it is hard to resist a women in leather and lace!

Meet Keisha and Trend:Long,sleek Ponytail

Meet Keisha (@keishanichole). Keisha and I have been friends since we met in the 9th grade at CITY and have been friends every since! She is more then a friend ,she is one of my son's god mothers, she is family. We fuss and fight like sisters but she always has my back and is there whenever I need her. She is a true blessing to have.Keisha is a real estate agent, event planner and she also works for Humanim, helping to place mentally challenged adults into the work force, amazing! Love you much Keesh. On Keisha's birthday a few months ago, Keisha wore a very sleek ,long ponytail, I loved this look on her! The sleek pony is one of my looks to try for fall. The style is timeless and appears effortless , while maintaining to give off CHIC! Just be sure that when wearing a sleek ponytail to make sure that your makeup is done, to keep you from looking like you are on your way to the gym, but make sure you keep the makeup from looking costumey. Also I would be sure to wear fabulous earrings for added glam! Fell free to add extensions into your ponytail for extra flair, just make sure it is the same color and texture of your hair, or you will look ridiculous!
Let me know if any of you try this look out. Here is some inspiration!

Show Off Your Inner Pussy......Cat: Fall/Winter TREND

My favorite trend, hands down , year round is leopard print!!! I love, love, love , leopard print. My friend Alicia jokes me and says that leopard print is my favorite color, lol! The leopard is a hunter, fast, courageous and fabulous, that is what draws me to this feline!Wearing leopard instantly makes me feel sexy!I have many staple leopard items in my closet , that i just adore. I wear leopard all year around, but my favorite time to wear this ,all ways in , trend, is in fall and winter. But there are some rules to go by to keep you from looking like Mel B. in her Scary Spice/Spice Girls days!

If you are going to do leopard chose 1 item to be the print! If doing a leopard dress, keep the accessories simples, or vice versa if wearing a plain solid outfit incorporate leopard accents such as shoes or a bag! Keeping the proportions in check will allow you to achieve a chic look instead of looking tick tack. Colorful leopard prints and mixing colors can be tricky. Rihanna pulled it off very well in this Dolce and Gabbana dress, but we must keep in mind , this is Rihanna, her body is sick and almost every thing looks great on her. Also with leopard print another Fall trend to try would be a dark red lip, I adore those two looks together, very pin up glam! I also love, the combination of leopard and 1 of my favorite colors army green together, its such a great contrast in masculine and feminine. You have to know what works for your body and what does not, your friends may not tell you the truth , but the mirror does! Take a second and then a few more to look before walking out the door. Here a a few items for inspiration!!Enjoy and remember to send me some of your pics so that I can spot light you, ashleysilvathoughts@gmail.com .
