Congrats to the SAINTS!!!! (and Kimmy, lol)

As we all know The New Orleans Saints won SuperBowl last night!! I have been rooting for them to go to Super Bowl since week 3 of the season! The city of New Orleans deserves this!Plus I am a true Baltimorean and did not want Indy winning another Super Bowl, hahaha Peyton (lol)! There was a rumor swirling that if The Saints won, the Reggie Bush would propose to Girlfriend, my fave, Kim Kardashian. I am not sure how true this is , but I would love to see these two married. They are a SUPER GOURGE couple and seem happy together, although we really don't know. I'm sure there are a lot of naysayers saying he won't or shouldn't marry her, but I believe these people are haters. Fact is we ALL have a past. 9 times out of 10 your girlfriend or boyfriend was with someone else before you. Unfortunately Kim made bad judgement and let her boyfriend at the time video tape her. But obviously Reggie is over it so the public should be too. Happy Valentine's Day!!
Kim and Reggie ,1 of my Fave Celebrity Couples!! I wish them all the sucess in the world!

Love is In The Air

With Valentine's Day this week and one of my friends Tamarie, who is writing a paper on Women's standards in relationships and asked for my opinion, I wanted to dedicate many of my post this week to LOVE,relationships and Valentine's Day ideas! I love LOVE, I guess you could call me a hopeless romantic. I love to see two people genuinely happy to be together! To me,Love is when you have found that one person that you can be YOURSELF around. It does not involve a bunch of changing on either end. If you have to change so much about yourself that you don't even know who you have become, that person is NOT the one for you. Honestly if I weren't in my marriage, I would want a relationship like it! Not to brag, or put my marriage on a pedestal but it is great. My husband and I are each others biggest supporters, in what we want to do in life. He has never tried to deter me from my dreams, and I am always the 1st person supporting something that I think will make him happy and more successful. We have a strong respect for one another and that is great! You have to be respectful of one another, neither of you are children and should not be treated as so. A major part of our relationship is that we talk and laugh together and like to go out and have fun, I never understood couples that never are seen out together, I feel they are hiding something! Now I am all for privacy, and you all will never know what gos on behind closed doors of our house, but as Quick says "I got a bad wife and I want to show her off",lol! That's just our way of making things work, he has to be out a lot anyway, so many times he wants me to come along. But that's just us, I understand every couple is different, but my main advice is, that if you cant be the person you were before your relationship and the person you are around your family and friends with your partner, then you need to get out now or you will lose the sense of self,if you havent already!

Grammy's Fashion 2010

It is award season, which means fashion on the RED CARPET! I think that I actually prefer to watch the Pre-Show Red Carpets instead of the show, to see what everyone is wearing, I love Fashion! I was very UNDERWHELMED at that red carpet fashion for the 2010 Grammys! When I think of the Grammy's I want to see fun, flirty, sexy, glamorous and risque ATTIRE, everyone seemed to have played it a little to safe. Singers Miley Cirus and Fergie wore "cute" dresses as well as the 4 time mom,the SUPER GOURGE Heidi Klum, but they all reminded me of something that I would wear to at club, not a red carpet affair. Jennifer Hudson wore a dress by Victoria Beckham , that I have been eyeing and waiting for it to be sold publicly for months, but the dress is something I personally would wear to dinner or cocktails with friends, not the Grammys. No one really gave me that WOW, or hit me with that fashion orgasm that I had anticipated. Although a few did stand out that gave me some excitement.Beyonce wore a dress by Stephane Rolland, that fit her beautifully. I love the architectural shape of the dress along with the geometric designs on it, I would have liked to have saw her hair done differently and a more delicate choice in earrings.Singer Pink definitely is a top contender for my best dressed, I love Mermaid shape on women because it accentuates and gives curves. Her dress was two tone going from a faint to a deep gray, the underlaying corset was decked with stones, it was risky and edgy, Loved it! Best New Artist nominee Keri Hilson also went with this mermaid style and looked SUPER GOURGE, make up was flawless.Another dress that stood out to me was Grammy winner, Taylor Swift, I love sparkle and the very dark green against her skin was amazing. Grammy Winner Singer Rihanna gave me mixed feelings, I love a white gown, its something so elegant yet sexy about white gowns, and her Elie Saab dress was SUPER GOURGE from the waist down! The feather and beaded bodice was a bit too much, I think a deep neckline with the feathers carefully placed would have done it for me, but her hair and makeup was fabulous. My worst dress would definitely have to go to Britney Spears with a close runner up, Ciara. Now, the black with he mesh/lace look is UBER sexy right now, when done right!!And these 2 did it ALL wrong! Britney looks as if she dressed herself, what happened to her stylist? And Ciara has very strong features and should also sexy it up with very feminine touches, I think a black sute with lace accents would have worked a lot better. Neither were acceptable in my book for either they no better! My STANDOUT of the night has to go to none other then LADY GAGA! She walked on the Red Carpet in custom made Giorgio Armani Prive, the dress was GAGA none the least! Definitely not something that I would wear ever, but she is a risk taker and originally, you have to respect her for that! My hope for next year is that musical artist take a little more risk, throw in some sparkle and shine, leather and lace! Its all about the FASHION!!!

Happy Birthday Aaliyah

Todays marks what would have been the 31st Birthday of my all time favorite entertainer Aaliyah. As a young girl I truly admired her, mimicking her dancing moves, and imitating her style! I constantly had the "Aaliyah swoop", she was truly ONE IN A MILLION and her presence will live on forever through her devoted fans and music and movies she left behind. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABYGIRL

HELPING HAITI!

I am truly saddened by the recent devastating earthquake that has taken the lives of over 20,000+ Haitians! Watching reports and seeing pictures of the incident left me literally lost for words. Earthquakes are unexpected and hard to calculate when and how much they will affect where they hit. Haiti really needs all the help that we can give! My foundation SILVA LINING is working towards helping out the people in Haiti, in a major way. When everything is finalized I will let you all know. Meanwhile be sure to donate to WYCLEFS foundation, by texting "Yele" to 501501 to donate $5, as many time as you can afford to, towards the effort of relief! As humankind it is our responsibility to help! And remeber they will need our help for months, even years to come as well!

Lil'Kim...Nicki Minaj...BARBIE

Rapper Nicki Minaj is making quite a name for herself and has a huge fan based following! I'm glad to see a fresh faces for female rap. I love female rappers, rap is primarily a males game, but when a strong women is on the scene is that much better! My all time favorite rapper has to be Lil' Kim! When she came on the scene with BIG and Junior Mafia, it was a breath of fresh air, up until then female rappers wore baggy clothes and rapped about violence! While women are just as tough as men,Lil' Kim revitalize the female rapper by coming out sexy and not afraid or ashamed to talk about her sexuality. Over the years Lil' Kim went from the cute girl from Junior Mafia to a sex icon, naming herself THE BLACK BARBIE! Now years later we have Nicki Minaj who is drawing many comparisons to Lil' Kim! I actually look at Young Money as the new Junior Mafia which is a huge compliment. Nicki refers to herself as BARBIE, and she is very animated! I do not believe that Nicki is "trying" to be Lil' Kim, but I am sure she has to credit Lil'Kim for influence! I think BARBIE is so idolized because of what she truly stands for, she is gorgeous, has had every career, has love, a dream house, corvette and equally gorgeous friends, she represent s the perfect life, something that women strive for. What little girl did not want to be a BARBIE growing up? So that is why I think rappers Lil'Kim and Nicki Minaj have identified with BARBIE DOLL!
Now onto Nicki MInaj's BARBIE MOVEMENT!! It is amazing how quickly Nicki Minaj has gotten such dedicated fans. In the past few months every time I have went out to a party, there have been at least 3 girls emulating Nicki's style of dress and/or hair. Now this bothers me! It is something that I would expect from young girls and teenagers, to want to dress and look like their favorite celebrity, but not grown 21+ women. There is a huge difference from admiring someone and losing sight of who you really are.I probably get about 5 friend request a day on twitter or facebook from adult women "named" something "Barbie" or "Minaj" or "5star chick"! When we see Nicki on videos or appearances she wears bra tops and leggings, with her hair long with a bang and pink extensions in the back, this has become HER signature style! And it works for her because she is a PERFORMER!! Its her costume! Nicki has even even said herself that whens she not performing she is more comfortable in sweats. I just feel that grown women who are not performers should not come of the house with just a bra on, it is quite tacky! A bra is an undergarment, you can still be sexy by covering up more and being yourself!

Happy New Year!!

Happy 2010 everyone!!! The holidays were great and now I am back for blogging! I have to admit I was very happy to see 2009 go!! At the stroke of midnight on New Years I instantly felt better! I am claiming that 2010 will be my best year ever!! At the beginning of every year we all make NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS, that we rarely stick to, so I never make any. Bu this year is different, I'm still not into the whole resolution thing but I will be making life changes! Here's my list.

1.Continue to be the best wife and mother that I possibly can be.
2. Get rid of people in my life who do not add to it in a positive way
3. Continue to do well in school, (I ended 2009 with a 4.0)!
4. Focus on my career! Well careers there is so much I want to do.
5. Network more! I have never really liked getting to know people but it is time that I venture out of my comfort zone, there are so many interesting individuals out there.
6. Start taking a little time out just for myself! As a mom and wife sometimes you lose yourself always doing so much for others, sometimes you just need ME time!
7. Stay consistent with working out. If you know me you know I go through spurts were I will workout everyday for months and then stop going for months and then back again. I must stay wit it this year!
8. Last but not least, remain Happy and Positive!! Life is not always perfect but mines is pretty great!

Did you make any resolutions??
